Florida Thoroughbred Charities, Inc. is the charitable arm of the Florida Thoroughbred industry. Since 1990, we have strengthened and supported our community by raising over $3.5 million for charitable organizatons within the Thoroughbred industry, Ocala/Marion County and the State of Florida. Funds are raised through annual fundraisers, which include the Annual Charity Live/Silent Auction, Stallion Season Auction and Golf Classic. Organizations which have benefitted from proceeds raised through the above events include:
EQUINE & AGRICULTURE RELATED organizations including State and Local 4-H Clubs, Florida Future Farmers of America, Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, Marion Therapeutic Riding Association, Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, Southeastern Youth Fair, the Florida Division of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and the new Florida Horse Park
COMMUNITY organizations including Marion Cultural Alliance (Horse Fever), United Way, Ocala Shrine Club, Disaster Animal Response Team, Interfaith Emergency Services/Feed the Children, Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society and Royal Dames for Cancer Research, Marion County Children's Alliance, Marion County Senior Services
EDUCATIONAL programs including Central Florida Community College Scholarship Fund, Central Florida Community College Equine Studies Program, University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida Large Animal Science Department and Horse Teaching Unit and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County/Black Stallion Literacy Project
